Calling all San Diego Noles: Today there will be a very special addition to our viewing party at the Encinitas location! Former FSU quarterback Chris Rix will be joining us at Beachside Bar and Grill to watch the Noles skin the Gators. For those of you who might not know, the last time Florida State beat Florida in “The Swamp”, Chris Rix was our quarterback. It will be great to have him with us today as we do it again! If you are in the area, make sure you come on by to cheer with us.

Seminoles, get out there and chop for our team in their last regular season game of the year! Let’s kick some Gator tail!

This senior class is also particularly important to Coach Jimbo Fisher. It is the first full recruiting class that he worked with from start to finish. This group, along with the coaching and guidance of Jimbo, were a critical part of getting the FSU football program turned around and back to where we all want it to go.

Although this group of players never won a championship, they definitely played a part in helping to put Florida State football on track to heading in that direction. This senior class truly impacted the program.

Today, as we gear up to play Virginia in our last home game of the season, let’s make sure to give these graduating seniors a grand sendoff from Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium! Let’s send them off with a final at home season win and prepare them for another win next week against the Gators!

Get out to your viewing sites. Stand up and chop for your Noles! Stand up and cheer for your seniors!

Unlike the Gator game, our games against Miami have always been a friendly rivalry. But that in no way diminishes the importance of always bringing our “A Game”. The Noles put up a substantial win against the Canes last year in Miami (45-17). But the Canes have done well playing at Doak, winning the last four out of five games in Tally. The Noles have been red hot with wins in our last four games. Now it’s time to add a fifth!

Short and simple, keep it up Noles. Keep making us proud. It’s gonna get LOUD in Doak and the fans are going to be chopping and cheering our Seminoles on! Show the Hurricanes that they are nothing more than a “tropical storm”!

Over the last three weeks, our Noles have played like the team that we know them to be. With the return of a healthy EJ Manuel, our passing game has improved. We will have to wait and see if Rashad Greene will be back in the game tonight after suffering an injury to his ankle. But if he does in fact return, the superstar freshman will bring even more strength to the group. We still need to work a bit more on running the ball but we are getting there. The Defense has really stepped it up, showing us some ole school FSU tackles. Kicker Dustin Hopkins and his monster golden shoed leg have continued to be powerful and accurate (despite a couple of misses). We are proud to have one of (if not the) best kickers out there!

As I said earlier, hopefully the short recovery time and the fact that our boys had to travel to Boston College will not effect the steady improvement we have been seeing. Even if they get off to a slow start, the team should find itself back in the zone quickly. BC’s less than stellar Offense (strategically ranked in the bottom half of the ACC In every major offensive category) should pose no threat to our Defense. We should be looking at our fourth win in a row tonight.

This evenings game will be a 5pm (PST) kickoff. Contact your local viewing sites to make sure they will have the game on.

This week’s game against NC State is an early one, 9:00am kick-off (PST). As my husband says “Lets neuter the wolfpack of NC State”. Head to your local game viewing site and cheer our Noles on! Lets make the Wolfpack howl in despair over their loss!

Tomorrow’s game against Duke is a 12:00pm (west coast time) kickoff. It looks like the game will be on ESPN3 and GamePlan. Make sure you check with your local viewing site to guarantee they will be showing the game.

The Noles need to win out the rest of their games to be Bowl eligible. They can do it! Raise your voices Seminoles!

Next week we have a 12:30pm EST kickoff (9:30am for us West Coasters) against Wake Forest. I hope you all turn up at your respective viewing sites ready to cheer our Noles on as they rake up another win. We can definitely win out the rest of our season games. It is within our grasp. Let’s do it!

The last couple of weeks have been hard. I needed some time before I felt up to writing this newest blog entry. But I’m going to keep it short and sweet.

The losses to Oklahoma and to Clemson were both devastating. We all felt the pain and disappointment. I am not going to dwell on the negative. What I am going to say is that our team is strong! Both of these games showed that FSU is a team worthy of being taken seriously. No longer will we sit back and let Oklahoma run away with a 47-17 win! We are going to fight back! We are going to play strong. We are going to show how much talent we have on this team. Not only is our QB a force to be reckoned with but watch out for our back-up as well! And as we have done in the past, we will learn from our mistakes, fix them and come back stronger then before.

So, as Forrest Gump would say “That’s all I have to say about that.” I’m going to end by saying Seminoles, keep the faith! We are Florida State!

The sound of over 70,000 Noles rallying behind their team. The sight of Chef Osceola riding in on Renegade with a flaming spear in hand. The feel of anticipation as the team ran out. So missed over those long months… And so worth the wait. Always so worth the wait!

The first two games of the season were filled with many exciting moments:
* 1st touchdown of the season was by senior Bert Reed.
* Near the end of the first half, EJ Manual connected with Greg Dent resulting in a perfectly thrown touchdown.
* Bjoern Werner had two sacks in the first game.
* In the 4th quarter against ULM, Jimbo sent back-up QB (RS) freshman Clint Trickett in for some playing time. In his first throw of his FSU career, Trickett completed a pass to true freshman Rashad Greene
* Against CSU, FSU’s offense accounted for over 500 yards.

AND NOW… Arguably the biggest game of the FSU season! #5 FSU plays #1 Oklahoma

Noles, raise your spears for the Garnet and Gold! Let’s send the Sooners south crying in their Miller Highlife beers. CUZ NOLES ARE ON THE WAR PATH!
